A clinical study that was done in Universiti Sains Malaysia on 88 adults who was diagnosed with primary monolateral or bilateral knee osteoarthritis for a period of 3 months. The Channa straitus extract significantly reduced pain, reduced symptoms, improved quality of life compared to patients who didn’t take the Channa striatus extract. The Channa striatus extract significantly helped the joints by remodelling the collagen via the synthesis of inter and intra molecular protein linkage that strengthens the articular cartilage. This action will reduce the fragmentation of degrading articular cartilage into the joint cavity therefore reducing the friction and inflammatory reaction in the joint. The Channa striatus extract also has the anti-inflammatory action by reducing the polymorphonuclear leucocytes production therefore reducing swelling of the joints. Patients will see an improvement within 5 to 7 days after consumption. However, for better results, it is recommended for Chantiva 750 to be taken for 3 months.
